Greetings all,
Programmers, artists, musicians, and writers all have different ways of looking at games, and different ideas about what makes a game good. But they all share the common goal of realizing the best game design possible.
Over sixty undergraduate and graduate students working in multi-disciplinary teams from colleges and departments across Cornell learned to design and produce digital games while enrolled in the undergraduate courses, CIS300: Digital Game Design and CIS400: Advanced Projects in Game Design. This semester also included experimental projects on the GameBoy Advance in CS212: Java Practicum.
The game design courses culminate with students presenting their games, discussing their research, and explaining their shared design visions in the semi-annual Game Design Showcase. (In fact, this showcase will be our 10th!)
The Game Design Showcase is free and open to the public and welcomes exploration of education, research, and corporate partnerships across Cornell and beyond.
